We have compiled a list of the country’s main attractions for you to choose from to get the very most of your Slovenian holiday experience. From cultural tourism and family-oriented activities, to blood-rushing adrenaline rides and everything in between, each location’s itinerary is planned out to perfection. The available  optional extras are too numerous, but don’t worry, you can always extend your holiday for a day or two to make sure you check your favourites off the list.

The great news about campervanning around Slovenia is that the distances are short and the traffic on well-maintained roads is relatively light, which makes driving easy and enjoyable. But don’t be fooled by its small size, Slovenia is among the most diverse places on Earth and offers an incredible array of must-visit destinations. Staying in safe, clean and conveniently located camps will place you in the heart of the action.

You’ll begin your road-trip in Ljubljana, Europe’s greenest capital, which offers amazing sightseeing, excellent gastronomy and outdoor recreation. Heading east, you’ll visit Maribor, the second biggest city, and Ptuj, the oldest town dating back to Roman times. Each of these urban spots and their outskirts has ample opportunities to keep you busy. Heading over to the majestic Kamnik-Savinja Alps, you’ll discover some of the most picturesque corners of Slovenia, before moving on to world-famous Lake Bled for some more. Deep in the unspoilt embrace of Triglav National Park, you’ll set up camp in Bohinj, renowned sports hub of Kranjska Gora and the insanely scenic paradise of Soča Valley. Tons of fun will be had in this region, with hiking, cycling, rafting, ziplining, rock climbing and canyoning, to list just a few.

From the mountainous area of Kobarid and Tolmin with its lovely gorges and waterfalls, you’ll make your way across Slovenia’s enchanting Karst region, where visits to the spellbinding Postojna Cave and the medieval phenomenon of Predjama Castle are obligatory. The next stop is the coast, where the Mediterranean climate and pretty seaside towns, like charming Piran and lively Portorož and their surrounding treasures, will present you with a completely different side to Slovenia. The vineyards of Goriška Brda, appropriately dubbed Slovenian Tuscany, and the nearby jewel called Vipava Valley are sure to satisfy all your senses. Then, on the final leg of your journey, you’ll pass a few more gorgeous sites, including a UNESCO cave system, before coming full circle in Ljubljana.
