4 incredible days packed with Alpine adventure await. Enter the world of magically diverse landscapes amidst towering mountains and pristine forest-covered valleys, emerald rivers and stunning waterfalls. We’re taking you on the most unique journey along which you’ll get a chance to visit some of Slovenia’s most beautiful locations which would otherwise easily go unseen.
Your daily itinerary is carefully planned so that you get the very most out of your trip. Each day includes 3-4 hours of undemanding and easily accessible trails that lead you to miraculously beautiful spots with views stretching as far as the eye can see. Accompanied by a professional local guide, you’ll walk across secluded and unimaginably green pastures and follow pristinely clear rivers through sublimely scenic valleys.
To add some gastronomic delights into the mix, you’ll be able to taste very delicious local cuisines at lovely restaurants along the way. And for a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of this part of Slovenia, your walking holiday is rounded up by visiting a museum and typical traditional villages in the hills.
Start your holiday with a scenic ride over the Vršič Pass and into the stunning Soča Valley. A journey to the heart of the Julian Alps with beautiful stops with magnificent views will be a wonderful prelude of what’s to follow in the following days. Enjoy a traditional meal, or a fun barbecue in case you join another escorted small group of hikers to get to know everybody better. Enjoy some free time in the small town of Bovec in the afternoon, relax and get ready for the next few days.
We will head up to the river banks of the Soča and discover its lively course, exploring the amazing troughs the river has made and hike into Lepena Valley, another paradise corner of this part of Slovenia. The hike will take us to an almost secret grove, following natural pools and small waterfalls, all in the shade of a green, lush forest. Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch in a local village. The afternoon will be reserved for waterfalls around Bovec and free time to spend relaxing in the beautiful setting of this adventure capital of Slovenia.
We will drive further south, towards Kobarid, where we go on a hiking loop to Drežnica village, voted one of the most scenic villages in Slovenia, and walk through the beautiful surrounding nature. Amazing forests, mountains and gorges will keep you company all the way to the famous Kozjak Waterfall, which is an absolute must if you are in the area. Our delicious lunch will be in Kobarid, an experience in itself with traditional cuisine and delightful atmosphere. The area of Kobarid is also famous for its WWI history, which you will get to know more about after a visit to the world-famous Kobarid museum.
All good things must come to an end, so we will leave the stunning Soča Valley and head up towards the Predil Pass, which will briefly bring us through Italy, where we will stop by the tranquil Lake Predil. After a short drive, we will re-enter Slovenia in the very northwestern corner and enter a valley, called Tamar. Most of the valley is closed for traffic, which makes it a perfect hiking destination and the entry point is by Planica Nordic Center, the home of ski-flying. You will be able to see the enormous ski-jumping hills before the start of the hike. The trail to the head of the valley is surrounded by incredible views of the Julian Alps. The last stop of the day will be near Kranjska Gora, a popular alpine resort, by Lake Jasna where another delicious lunch awaits. After some well-deserved free time by the lake, your holiday will be concluded back in Ljubljana.
