Bohinj Lake is Bled’s slightly less famous neighbor but unjustly so. Surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps, it is a true gem in the heart of Triglav National Park. In order to get the best views around, we will take a cable car to the Vogel Mountain, rising above the lake and offering some of the best views in the country. If you are up for a short hike, Savica Waterfall, nested at the head of Bohinj Valley, is another must-see.

It’s back to nature on this day! Your morning will start at the magical Vintgar Gorge*, a popular place just outside of Bled, a spectacularly scenic walk following the green Radovna River. Then we will continue deeper into the valleys of the Julian Alps, such as Krma with its grassy meadows and Vrata with streams and waterfalls, all surrounded by the magnificent mountain peaks.
The Julian Alps are famous for winter sports, so you will be introduced to the cradle of ski-jumping, Planica in the Tamar Valley, as well as Kranjska Gora, a popular resort for skiing and summer activities.

Things to know
The included pickup and drop-off at the end of the holiday in the price published on our website is in Bled. For any changes, please notify us upon booking. The included transfers are all the transfers between places and/or activities specified in the itinerary.
Both our back office team and our guides know where to go. We can give you recommendations or even pre-book some places for you. You can be adventurous and find places on your own. Either way, let us know if you would like any sort of help.
It is important to dress for the season. Slovenia has all 4 seasons, so please check the weather forecast before the day trip regarding temperatures and rainfall. When you are close to the Alps, the weather can change fairly quickly, so your best bet is to always bring an extra layer. We recommend shoes you will be comfortable in.
It really depends on the level of your restriction. Vegetarian options are fairly easy to find in Slovenia, but vegan dishes, on the other hand, are extremely hard to come by in rural areas of the country and in smaller towns. Please note that the places where we stop for lunch are often traditional and may have difficulties accommodating you outside of their standard menu. We suggest you keep this in mind.
Yes! Our holidays are designed to give you some free time every day to relax and spend it the way you want to. It is your holiday after all! For any advice and suggestions you can always turn to your tour leader or our back office, who will be more than happy to help you out.
