The next stop is the spellbinding Lake Bohinj, Slovenia’s biggest natural lake. Embellished by majestic Alpine backdrops, this gem of a lake is bang in the middle of Triglav National Park. We’ll stand-up paddle along the most striking part of the lake’s shore and practice our paddling techniques.
After our SUP session, it’s time for a healthy snack to recharge our batteries and get ready for an hour-long hike through the forest up to the 60-meter Savica Waterfall and its smaller cousin a bit further on. Then it’s a quick drive to Bled, our new home for a couple of nights.

We’ll SUP under an impressive bridge, then follow the railway along the narrow valley of the Idrijca River. Our next destination is the sunlit Mediterranean coastal part of Slovenia.
Goriška Brda is known for its endless vineyards, olives, and fragrant orchids. We’ll spend the night at a traditional homestead, take a walk among the vineyards and visit a local wine cellar. Tasty culinary treats with high-class wines will end the day nicely.

Things to know
Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. A swimming suit is a must in the summertime, since refreshing dips are practically obligatory. During spring or autumn, we recommend a hoodie or a wind-stopper jacket to keep you warm. The Soča River is quite cold in those months, so if you decide to take a dip, we can provide you with a short wetsuit free of charge.
The SUP Holidays Slovenia are guided by experienced and ASI certified SUP instructors.
The holiday is suitable for people who can swim and are in reasonable physical shape. The tours are not demanding and you need no prior experiences with stand-up paddle boarding. Children are also most welcome to join. Those over 12 years old can join us on their own board, while younger kids can sit on their parent’s SUP board, providing they already have experience in stand-up paddling.
We try to provide the best possible experience on our holidays, so we use very stable Red Paddle Co boards, perfect for beginners or travellers with little experience.
We recommend comfortable sport clothes, swimsuits, a towel, comfortable sport shoes for hiking, a sweater and wind-stopper jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat / cap.
We will gladly take you stand-up paddle boarding in sunny or cloudy (dry) weather, but cannot in the event of heavy rain, windy weather or strong river currents. If the weather forecast looks rainy, we will try to reschedule the SUP Holiday to another date or another location.
