There is a reason why Kranjska Gora is such a popular resort, not only among foreign visitors but also locals who love to keep coming back to this place time after time. It is situated right in the northwestern corner of Slovenia, wedged at the foothills of the Julian Alps, offering countless options to explore the beautiful valleys and mountains either on foot or by bike. It makes for a perfect base for an entire week, which will give you something to remember for years to come.

You will get to thoroughly explore the area of Kranjska Gora and all its best places, such as Lake Jasna, which is extremely refreshing in the summertime and a gorgeous place to visit all year round with its surreal mountain backdrop. You won’t miss the Zelenci Springs nature reserve, the beginning of the beautiful Sava Dolinka River, or the less known Martuljek Falls, a series of two waterfalls rewarding your hike.

We will venture further into the alpine valleys for more hiking and amazing sights, such as the iconic Peričnik Waterfall in Vrata Valley or Planica Nordic Center with its ski jumping facilities in Tamar Valley. We will hop across the Italian border to see the Slovenian mountains towering over the tranquil Belopeška Lakes and tick off the ever-popular Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge. You won’t miss one of the most beautiful rivers in the world, Soča, and if you are up for it, you can opt for some adrenaline activities there as well.

We assure holidays in Kranjska Gora are an unforgettable active experience you don’t want to miss out on.

Things to know

The included pickup and drop-off at the end of the holiday in the price published on our website is in Kranjska Gora. For any changes, please notify us upon booking. The included transfers are all the transfers between places and/or activities specified in the itinerary.

Both our back office team and our guides know where to go. We can give you recommendations or even pre-book some places for you. You can be adventurous and find places on your own. Either way, let us know if you would like any sort of help.

Our activities included in the tour are appropriate both for absolute first-timers to people with experience. For most of the activities included in the itinerary, you need to be moderately fit, meaning that you are able to hike up a slope for about 30 minutes and know how to swim for the water activities. In case you are unsure about any of the activities, feel free to ask us anything and we will help you out.

It is important to dress for the season. Slovenia has all 4 seasons, so please check the weather forecast before the day trip regarding temperatures and rainfall. When you are close to the Alps, the weather can change fairly quickly, so your best bet is to always bring an extra layer. We recommend shoes you will be comfortable in.

It really depends on the level of your restriction. Vegetarian options are fairly easy to find in Slovenia, but vegan dishes, on the other hand, are extremely hard to come by in rural areas of the country and in smaller towns. Please note that the places where we stop for lunch are often traditional and may have difficulties accommodating you outside of their standard menu. We suggest you keep this in mind.

Yes! Our holidays are designed to give you some free time every day to relax and spend it the way you want to. It is your holiday after all! For any advice and suggestions you can always turn to your tour leader or our back office, who will be more than happy to help you out.
