Give yourself enough time to really experience Lake Bled and the surrounding area without missing the capital, Ljubljana, and iconic locations, such as Lake Bohinj and Vintgar Gorge, yet still enjoy less famous but equally beautiful spots in the Julian Alps. The itinerary is set up in a holiday pace, perfectly balancing activities and time you can spend any way you like, giving you the opportunity to relax.
The Lake Bled resort makes a perfect base for your holiday with its brilliant location. Travelling distances are short with everything less than an hour away. It has plenty of restaurants, cafes and entertainment, as well as more secluded spots, trails and easily accessible nature.
From the spectacular mountain setting, the clear waters of lakes, rivers and waterfalls, to the bustling city of Ljubljana, there is a good deal of wonderful moments that will make your holiday in Slovenia unforgettable.
Your holiday at Lake Bled will start with all the most popular attractions - we will visit the magnificent Bled Castle with its spectacular views and enjoy a traditional boat ride to the island in the middle of the lake. You will be able to tick off the famous Bled cream cake and enjoy the bustling resort town of Bled.
Bohinj Lake is Bled’s slightly less famous neighbour but unjustly so. Surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps, it is a true gem in the heart of Triglav National Park. In order to get the best views around, we will take a cable car to the Vogel Mountain, rising above the lake and offering some of the best views in the country. If you are up for a short hike, Savica Waterfall*, nested at the head of Bohinj Valley, is another must see.
A visit to Slovenia must include a stop in its charming capital, Ljubljana. Only a short drive from Bled, this lovely city will welcome you with its cheerful atmosphere and beautiful architecture. The walking tour will take you to all the main attractions in the old town and for a change of perspective, we will take you on a leisurely boat ride on Ljubljanica River. Making sure you get to see it all, we will head up to one of the best vantage points, the Ljubljana Castle and visit all the different exhibitions it has to offer.
It’s back to nature on this day! Your morning will start at the magical Vintgar Gorge*, a popular place just outside of Bled, a spectacular scenic walk following the green Radovna River. Then we will continue deeper into the valleys of the Julian Alps, such as Krma with its grassy meadows and Vrata with streams and waterfalls, all surrounded by the magnificent mountain peaks. The Julian Alps are famous for winter sports, so you will be introduced to the cradle of ski-jumping, Planica in the Tamar Valley, as well as Kranjska Gora, a popular resort for skiing and summer activities.
Your final day will be reserved for some down time at Bled. You can choose our Food Tour Bled to get to know the culinary delights of both Bled and Slovenia or just relax on your own. Cycling or walking around the lake are a great way to spend the day and on hot summer days, the lake has perfect swimming temperatures. Make sure you make the best of it!
