On this day of biking, we’ll head to the south of Slovenia, where local MTB thrill-seekers are slowly but surely turning this place into one of the best mountain biking centers in the region. The center’s reputation is already attracting visitors from all over Slovenia and beyond. This year it will also host numerous festivals with the best pro riders from the domestic and foreign scene.
Bike Centre Kočevje has a lower altitude difference but its many different intertwining trails offer for more than a full day of biking fun. We will tackle some of ourselves, while others will be conquered with the help of a shuttle ride.

The Golovec trails are managed by a team of hardcore MTB volunteers who make sure that the trails are flawless and regularly maintained. The trails were built by the best in the country, and rest assured, the easier flow trails and large gap jumps with technically demanding sections are as awesome as the Golovec Hill itself.

Nadiža river
Matajur is a mountain rising above the scenic Soča Valley, which, in addition to beautiful views, also offers one of the longest natural descents. 12 km and 1400 vertical meters of absolute MTB enjoyment, along the Matadown trail. We will overcome half of the altitude by van and continue by bike along the old military mule track.
After the long and exciting descent, the van will pick us up and take us to the Nadiža River for a well-deserved refreshing swim. The bravest among us can also jump in the chilly Soča. The day will end with a tour of the gorgeous Soča Valley and a return across the famous Vršica Pass.

The longest flow trail in Europe
All day of gondola assisted riding
After two days of intense biking, a cable car ride will be most welcome. Unlike the technically demanding descent of the previous day, the Petzen trail just over the Austrian border is the longest and smoothest flow trail in Europe. It includes plenty of tables, ridges, and steep curves along its 10% incline amidst jaw-dropping surroundings.
Besides the easy flow trail, Petzen also offers a slightly harder trail named Thriller and the EWS trail, a challenging run for the more adventurous mountain bikers. Specifically built for the 2018 Enduro World Series, the EWS promises a true challenge for any mountain biker.

It’s time to venture into the southwestern part of Slovenia. The Karst world offers a unique MTB experience, which includes a Mediterranean climate, a view of the Adriatic Sea, and dust behind your rear tires. Due to its location, this area also offers a backup variation of the trip in case the weather turns sour. The ups-and-downs through this wild country will conclude with a dip in the sea and blowing off steam at the Slovenian coast.

Things to know
Many of our travelers join as singles. We charge single supplement fee to solo travelers for single room use. But don’t worry, we can pair you with another traveler of the same gender if you like.
Most of the biking will be van or gondola powered. With the exception of day 5, the trails are short and you are welcome to do as many rides as you want. On day 5, we will have to overcome around 900 vertical meters to reach the top of Matajur. At the very end, there will be some pushing of the bikes, but the reward on the downhill is more than worth it!
Most days there will be many options available, from easy flow trails to more technically demanding. You will always be able to choose your preferred level, there will always be enough trails for everyone confident with an occasional rock or root on a trail.
Where the meals are included in the itineraries they are in a group setting. Your guide will also be with you during these scheduled meals. During the meals that are not included in the itinerary, you are free to choose where you would like to dine. Your guide will advise you of the best places to dine. You can choose to join with others and decide to dine together somewhere or if you desire some independent time, you are also always welcome to do your own thing.
It is important to dress for the season. Slovenia has all 4 seasons, so please check the weather forecast before the holiday regarding temperatures and rainfall. When you are close to the Alps, you can see all 4 seasons change in the same day, so your best bet is to always bring an extra layer and rain gear. Your guide will let you know each day what kind of weather you can expect for the next day and don’t worry – extra layers can always be left in a van.
