Visiting Martuljek Waterfall

Tucked under Mt. Špik are two fascinating waterfalls, with the Upper Martuljek being especially remarkable with its 110-metre vertical drop. The hiking trail to the waterfalls is easy and comes highly recommended due to the falls’ incredibly beautiful location. However, the trail up to the waterfalls themselves is only suitable for well-equipped and experienced mountaineers. The brook giving life to these natural spectacles flows over the Jasenje Mountain until the Lower Martuljek waterfall falls over a 50-metre high wall into a 400-metre limestone gorge – the Martuljek Gorge. The best time to visit the Martuljek Falls is in late spring when the melting snow supplies them with an abundance of water.
