The local diet in this area has always consisted of dairy- and meat-based products, so expect a lot of cheese in all its forms and by-products. The restaurant works closely with the local community of foragers, shepherds, cheesemakers, hunters and fishermen. The region is teeming with trout, deer, goats, fruits and wild plants – all are incorporated into their fabulous dishes.
In June 2020, with the first edition of Slovenian Michelin guide was released, Hiša Franko received two Michelin stars. Imagine that? Or rather don’t – just visit and taste for yourself!
